I have launched my website, now what?
Ok, so you’ve launched your website and now you’re thinking, “What’s Next?” Well we have a 10 point plan that will help you get the most out of your site.
1. Know your content management system (CMS)
Your content management system log-in is only a couple of clicks away. We create websites in a CMS framework that allows you to make changes, add pages or swap images whenever you want. Treat your site as a work in progress and remember that even after we’ve gone live, you can still alter your site whenever you want.
2. Keep working on your knowledge of SEO
If you haven’t done it already, Google ‘SEO’. Check to see what it’s all about. Or if you’re feeling a bit lazy, don’t worry; we have a simple point form version of it here – What is SEO?
3. Use the power of the cloud
If you don’t use the cloud (specifically Google Drive) you’re probably missing out. Affiliate programs such as Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets and Google Slides have changed the game. We live in the cloud, so ask us about how we can get you set up as soon as possible.
4. Learn more about Google Analytics
What’s the point of having a website if you don’t know how it’s being received. We can set you up with useful web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) so you can stare at statistics all day like we do.
5. Keep posting on your blog
It’s important to know that great content is at the heart of great SEO. You know your business better than anyone, so write about it and post it on your blog. Don’t be scared to post because it all helps to build up your content, and if you need some help, ask your friendly neighbourhood Coup for a hand.
6. Keep sending your customers your emails
Keep in contact with the people who like you. They are the ones most likely to use your services or buy your products again. Don’t have a database? You actually probably do, you just haven’t put all your contacts together yet. Start by going through your emails and picking out friends, family, contractors or any other contacts you think would be good to send your material to. Once you’re ready to go, we will set you up to Mailchimp and send you on your way.
7. Remember to back up your precious site
Protect your sites content. We can get this done through plug-ins and other means. Get in contact with us to get the process started.
Your business is going to grow and evolve and your website should reflect this. We’ve launched and that’s great but we need to make sure your website is current and up-to-date. If you don’t like certain parts of your site, make them better and improve them.
9. Care for your site
Your website is live, fresh and new but sometimes things can change, so make sure you remember to monitor it. Check it from time to time and make sure all the pages are functioning the way they should. Want us to do this for you? No problem, just get in touch.
10. Prepare your social networks
If you haven’t done it already, it’s time to register your social networks. Even if you aren’t going to use them, it’s important to register your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts (all of these plus more depending on your business), because it’s better to register now and be safe rather than down the track when the name might be taken.
Launching your site is great and all, but it’s what comes after that’s the really exciting part! These steps should act as your 10 commandments for keeping your site at the peak of its power and on a path to where it needs to be.
