This is how it's done

When you search for something on Google, how often will you check beyond the first page? Well, according to statistics around 95% of Google’s traffic will drop off beyond this point. The aim of our optimize step is to get you on Google’s first page by using various search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. SEO is about populating your website with great content and packing it full of keywords and keyphrases that people are likely to search for. It’s also about building and maintaining a strong portfolio of backlinks from other reputable sites. SEO can be a complicated process so we’ve broken it down into the 5 steps below so that you can get a good idea of how it works.

Step 2

Research

Keyword Planner, Keyword Report, Keyword Strategy, Hitlist, Web Audit

Research is the key to good SEO. With help from the tools provided by our SEO launch pack we will be able to conduct an analysis of your website, it’s content, and the wider industry your business exists in. From there we’ll use Google Adwords to find strong keywords and estimate how well they will perform. Keeping you in the loop all the way with your My Coup folder on Google docs, where your Keyword Strategy and Hitlist will be stored.

If you have an existing site and want to know how it’s SEO can be improved then check out our SEO audit service. The key area that we will look at when we perform an SEO audit is your businesses ‘digital presence’. This encompasses the way your business appears across all of its online platforms, from your website to Facebook page. Managing and enhancing this digital presence is the aim of the game when it comes to our SEO process.

Strategy

Step 3

Strategy

Keyword Strategy, Content Strategy, Digital Presence Strategy

If you have completed the right amount of research, you will be set to create a successful online strategy.

Keyword Strategy
This is a set of keywords and phrases that need to be populated throughout your website. The amount of  keywords and phrases you wish to target is up to you.

Content Strategy
Having clear direction with the content you are building is crucial when developing your strategy. Your content strategy should be closely connected to your keyword strategy as the keywords and phrases should be well represented throughout your content and blog.

Digital Presence Strategy
Your digital presence is related to how you are presented and perceived online. This relates to your Google Ranking, Facebook, Blogs, Directories and pretty much anywhere on the web where you may have left a footprint. If we identify content that needs to be cleared or altered in the research phase, we will include this in your strategy.

Offsite Optimization

Step 4

Optimise

Find & Populate

Part 1

Onsite Optimisation

Onsite optimisation* is where we apply the SEO strategy that we’ve developed. As the name suggests, this step is only concerned with the content that’s actually on your site. Here we will insert keywords into the title tags of your pages, make sure all pages have meta descriptions, optimize copy with keywords, set ALT tags, and create appropriate image names.

If you’re a bit confused by the jargon then check out our ‘SEO Blueprint’ post. This step is only a jumping off point and you should remember that onsite optimization is an ongoing process that can always be reevaluated and improved.

Part 2

Offsite Optimisation

Offsite optimization consists of the other half of our SEO strategy. Creating a strong link profile is essential for boosting a website’s search ranking. Start by finding online directories such as True Local or the Yellow pages and then build from there. Continue by searching for bloggers, websites and businesses who are similar to your own and link to them. The more reputable sites that link back to yours, the higher you’re going to rank in a search. Finally, make sure you always remember that the best way to build links is to earn them organically by writing great content that people will link to because it’s exciting or interesting.
